NAMI Support Groups

NAMI Dakota County offers peer-to-peer support groups for people living with a mental illness, family members, and parents of children. 
Groups are led by trained facilitators who have personal experience living with a mental illness or caring for a family member with a mental illness. 

All groups are free to attend and no registration is required.

NAMI Connection Support Groups: For people living w/mental illnesses.

Burnsville - 
When:  Meets Thursdays, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Mary Mother of the Church, 3333 Cliff Road E., in Room 15

A free meal is served before the group at 5:15.

NAMI Family Support Groups: For family members of adults w/mental illnesses.

When: 4th Monday of each Month at 7:00 p.m.
Where: Advent United Methodist, 3945 Lexington Avenue South, Eagan

NAMI Parent Resource Groups: For parents of children under 18 who are experiencing mental health challenges.

Apple Valley
When: 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of each month from 6:30 p.m. to 8 pm
Where: Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 12650 Johnny Cake Road
Dinner served at 6:00 PM, Free childcare provided

Savage
Daytime group meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month, 10:30 to 12:00, at The Caribou Coffee, 7745 Egan Drive. Contact NAMI at 651-645-2948. (The group's table will be indicated by a Red Rubber Duck on the table.)

Young Adult NAMI Connection Support Group: For adolescents (16-20) living with mental health challenges.

When: 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.  Free Pizza at 6:00 PM

On-Line Support Groups

On-line support groups allow people living with mental illnesses, and their loved ones, to attend peer-led support groups from anywhere using a computer, laptop or smartphone.
 
On-line Family Connections Program
An education, skills and support-based program that offers a lifeline to families who are facing the challenges of Borderline Personality Disorder.
 
On-line Family Support Group
This Support Group is for family and friends of individuals living with a mental illness. It gives an opportunity to meet with others who share their concerns, to compare experiences and learn from each other.
 
On-line Family to Family
For family and friends of individuals with a serious mental illness taught by trained family members.
 
Webconnect Support Group
NAMI Minnesota WebConnect support groups are for people living with a mental illness. People with any diagnosis can attend. The groups are led by trained peers who are in recovery; people who understand first hand the challenges we face. These groups are intended for anyone in the country who want support.
